In this new style/organization, we have a special rule set for jiyu kumite.

  • We have head protection like in Kudo.
  • No gloves allowed (only slim fist protection).
  • ground fight is allowed.
  • the fight is 1 minute long

You can win in one of this ways:

  • opponent gives up (surrender by joint locks or for other reasons)
  • fighter is standing, while other fighter is on the floor
  • 3 realistic and good hits to the (protected) head
  • 3 realistic and good kicks
  • opponent unable to move (joint locks, etc) for more than 5 seconds

The fights are divided in to categorys by points:

  • Start with 5 points.
  • For each year over 30 years, you substract 0.1 points.
  • Each Dan is as many points as the number of the dan (2nd Dan is 2 points and so on)
  • each kilogram below 100 substracts 0.1 points, over 100 kilogram nothing added or substracted.

For example:

  • Fighter A is 90 kilos (-1 pt), 20 years old (+0 pts) and 1st Dan (+1 pt). Total 5 points.
  • Fighter B is 80 kilos (-2 pts), 30 years old (+0 pts), 2nd Dan (+2 pts). Total 5 points.
  • Fighter C is 100 kilos (+0 pts), 40 years old (-1 pt), 2nd Dan (+2 pts). Total 6 points.
  • Fighter D is 80 kilos (-2 pts), 60 years old (-3 pts), 6th Dan (+6 pts). Total 6 points.
  • Fighter E is 40 kilogram (-4 pts), 80 years old (-5 pts) and 1st Kyu (0 pts). Total -4 points.
  • Fighter F is 100 kilogram (+0 pts), 30 years old (+0 pts) and 5th Dan (+5 pts). Total 10 points.
  • Fighter F is 100 kilogram (+0 pts), 80 years old (-5 pts) and 10th Dan (+10 pts). Total 10 points.

A and B can fight each other, because one person is heavyer, but has a lower dan-level, so it is about equal.

C and B can also fight each other. While D is much older, he has higher Dan, which means a lot of training years and to be very talented.

10 points is the Maximum.
